    Saudi Arabia promotes aquaculture investments with 200license


     
    Saudi Arabia stepped up the investment in aquaculture, through the licensing of more than 200 investors in the private sector, in order to support and increase annual production of fish and shrimp. He said for the ' economic ' official in the Ministry of agriculture has given more than 200 licenses for Saudi investors finally, shrimp farms and fish ponds in the coast of the Kingdom. Alshehri said spokesperson at the Ministry of fisheries agent, the volume of private investment in farming and fishing, and more than 10 billion riyals. He added that work was under way to establish the aquaculture cages in the Red Sea coast, a pond for fish and shrimp in the Saudi coast. He said also , aquaculture production volume currently stands at 12,000 tons per year, and 30,000 tons of shrimp added to fish, and that most of the investment and the largest based on the Red Sea coast.
    Alshehri said: there is an expansion in the current year, the entry continued in the private sector in this area, in order to increase the annual production of fish resources in the country, covering the local market demand for fish and shrimp. The Ministry of agriculture to development, investment and protection of living aquatic resources, to achieve the optimum utilization of fish and shrimp in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, the Red Sea and inland waters and local. Earlier, started five projects for aquaculture management Saudi companies; would raise the size of fish farming in Saudi Arabia from 30 tons to 100,000 tons in three years. New business production will reach to markets in April.

    These projects are located in sea water over long distances, next to beaches regions: Tabuk and Mecca, JAZAN and Asir. Agricultural Development Fund supports these projects, in order to use the latest technologies in farming, including floating cages in the sea water, modern devices managed via computer, and towers next to the cages, run by professionals with a high level. The Ministry said previously for the ' economic ': Saudi projects in the area of fish farming in Mauritania is in the process of being implemented, the Mauritanian Government has the desire to attract Saudi investors in aquaculture and livestock investment.
